FAQs

How do I sign up for a workshop?

You can reserve your spot by filling out the registration form. Once we confirm availability, we’ll send you a payment link to secure your spot.

What if I need to cancel?

Since our workshops have limited availability, last-minute cancellations can impact both our ability to fill the spot and the overall experience for participants. Below is our refund and cancellation policy to ensure fairness for both attendees and our team.

If you need to cancel your registration 30 or more days before the workshop date, you are eligible for a full refund minus a $30 processing fee. Cancellations made between 15 and 29 days before the workshop qualify for a 50% refund.

Unfortunately, cancellations made within 14 days of the workshop are non-refundable due to the challenge of filling last-minute openings. No-shows or cancellations are not eligible for refunds or credits.

If you need to cancel, reschedule, or have any questions, please reach out to us as soon as possible. We appreciate your understanding and look forward to helping you capture stunning cityscapes!

What happens if the weather is bad?

Workshops run rain or shine because some of the best cityscape photos happen in dramatic weather conditions! However, if there is severe weather that makes the session unsafe, we will reschedule or issue a credit toward a future date.

Will there be a lot of walking?

We will be walking between shooting locations, so please wear comfortable shoes. The total walking distance varies between workshops. On average, we walk about a mile and are on our feet most of the time. If this is a concern for you, please let us know.

What skill level is required?

This workshop is not for complete beginners. To get the most out of the experience, you should have a basic understanding of your camera settings (aperture, shutter speed, and ISO). If you’re looking to refine your composition, long-exposure techniques, or creative cityscape photography, this workshop is perfect for you! However, if you’re brand new to photography and unfamiliar with your camera, you may want to take a beginner’s class before joining.

What camera gear should I bring?
  • A DSLR or mirrorless camera (any brand/model is fine)
  • A wide-angle and mid-range lens, and a telephoto in some cases (e.g., 16-35mm, 24-70mm, 70-200mm)
  • A sturdy tripod (especially for night photography & long exposures)
  • Extra batteries & memory cards
What if I want extra coaching before or after the workshop?

You can book a 1-on-1 coaching session (virtual or in person) for personalized feedback and editing guidance.

Will I receive feedback on my photos?

Yes! Every participant will get a 1.5-hour post-shoot critique session via Zoom, where we review your best shots, discuss composition and editing, and help you refine your work.

Can you help with travel arrangements?

Yes! We work with a New York-based travel advisor who can assist you with booking hotels and flights if you’re traveling from out of town. She will ensure that you’re staying near our workshop locations for easy access, making your trip as smooth as possible. This service is completely free—there is no additional charge for using our travel advisor. If you’d like assistance with your travel plans, just let us know, and we’ll connect you!
